Highlight video on Chelsea have three players ready to step up this year if Erling Haaland transfer bid fails

Chelsea are keen on signing Erling Haaland this summer but are yet to go in with a second bid for the striker, after their first player-plus-cash offer was rejected by Borussia Dortmund. The Blues will reportedly have to pay up to £150million to secure his services, which they may not be prepared to do

The Norwegian’s £64m release clause is said to become active next summer, so Thomas Tuchel may wait until then to pick up the forward.

So, until then, Chelsea may need to rely on their existing forwards to step up and score the goals they struggled to last season.

Defensive midfielder Jorginho was their top scorer in the league last season, scoring seven goals - all from the penalty spot.

Chelsea spent £120m on German duo Timo Werner and Kai Havertz last summer, but the pair endured difficult seasons in their first year in west London.

Chelsea could miss out on Erling Haaland this summer, with Borussia Dortmund unwilling to sell the striker on the cheap.
