Gary Neville blasts "embarrassing" Bruno Fernandes for Man Utd penalty statement
Gary Neville called Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes "embarrassing" after he issued a lengthy letter to fans following his penalty miss against Aston Villa.
Fernandes missed a last-gasp penalty in Saturday's Premier League match, inflicting the Red Devils a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Later that day, he apologized to United fans on social media, admitting that he "failed," but promising to be ready to take the team's next penalty.
The statement did not impress Neville, who feels it was created by a public relations firm and lacked "authenticity."
