Cristiano Ronaldo was ordered off Man Utd training pitch by irate Sir Alex Ferguson

 




Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had to drag Cristiano Ronaldo off the training pitch because he was so concentrated on honing his skills.


During his first time at Old Trafford, the Portuguese superstar progressed from a youthful hopeful to a proven elite performer between 2003 and 2009.


Ronaldo arrived as a frail winger from Sporting Lisbon, but over the next six years he developed into a commanding physical presence who set numerous scoring records.


Such a move would have required a work ethic well above that of his teammates and contemporaries in order for him to establish himself as one of football's finest.
