According to a source, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is ready to quit the club as soon as possible, with David De Gea firmly established as interim manager Ralf Rangnick's first choice.

After returning from a successful two-year loan spell at Sheffield United, Henderson, 24, split first-team responsibilities with De Gea last season, but has fallen behind the Spaniard this season, first under dismissed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and now under Rangnick.

'Dean Henderson has always been respectful and professional, but he's now prepared to quit Manchester United,' tweeted respected transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Thursday. His main goal is to play. It will depend on the offers whether it happens in January or in the summer.' 'As things stand, no conversations with Ajax are happening,' he stated.

Henderson has made no secret of his desire to become an undisputed No 1 in order to improve his chances of playing for England, and he could be permitted to go either on or before the end of the season.
