Paul Parker: Rashford is holding back Greenwood at Manchester United

Mason Greenwood is being held back by teammate Marcus Rashford, according to former Manchester United defender Paul Parker.

In both of interim manager Ralf Rangnick's Premier League games in charge so far, the 20-year-old forward has came off the bench, with fellow England international Marcus Rashford preferred in attack.

Despite playing with Cristiano Ronaldo up front, the 24-year-old has played fewer minutes and scored twice compared to Greenwood's four goals this season.

Former full-back Parker believes that Greenwood should be given an opportunity quickly to avoid him losing confidence, and that speculations of him transferring - Arsenal has been linked - could simply be bluster from his agent.

Parker told bettingexpert, 'He (Rashford) is holding Mason Greenwood back.'

'Greenwood, I suppose, is in desperate need of a run in that team.' He's a young lad who has been the subject of gossip.
